Stephen Duda, the ASHRAE St. Louis Chapter Honors & Awards Chair, is pleased to announce that two St. Louis Chapter members are being honored by ASHRAE with the Distinguished Service Award. This award recognizes members who have served ASHRAE faithfully as a member of committees at the Society level, or otherwise giving freely of his/her time and talent on behalf of the Society. It is a lifetime cumulative-points based award. The honorees have already received their lapel pin, and will be presented with a plaque by ASHRAE President David Underwood at a ceremony in St. Louis on June 25, 2016 in conjunction with the 2016 Annual Conference. The honorees are:
Robert A. Jones — Robert’s service includes all of the chapter officer positions in St. Louis, including our most recent chapter past-President. He has numerous years of service on three Standards Project Committees (Standards 17, 153, and 158) and two Technical Committees (8.08 and 10.03) at the Society level, including several years as a Committee Chair.
Charles (“Chuck”) Dale-Derks — Chucks’ service includes all of the chapter officer positions in St. Louis, including chapter President. He has numerous years of service on two Standards Project Committees (Standards 166 & 180) and three Technical Committees (1.06, 7.03, and 7.08) including several years as a Committee Chair, plus service to Society on the Nominating Committee and as Regional Vice-Chair for Chapter Programs.
In addition, Jessica Mangler will also be awarded the 2016 Lincoln Bouillon Award for her work in membership development during the 2014-2015 Society year. The award consists of a plaque, lapel pin, and transportation to the Society’s Annual Conference. The award is based on the recommendation of the Membership Promotion Committee and approval of the Honors and Awards Committee. The award was established in memory of ASHRAE’s late past President, Lincoln Bouillon, who believed that Society membership was an integral part of the life of every person associated with the air-conditioning, heating, and refrigeration fields. Presentation of her award will be at the Plenary Session on June 25 at 3:15pm.
Please join us in congratulating these deserving award recipients.
