Letter from the President
I can’t believe September is here already. It’s time to kick off our ASHRAE season with our first official chapter meeting on 9/21, where we’ll honor our chapter’s past presidents. As always, past presidents are invited to this meeting free of charge. We’ll also present a special honor to our most recent past president, Bob Jones. For the members of our chapter in the early part of their career, I recommend introducing yourself to one of our past presidents. These folks have all demonstrated a special commitment to ASHRAE and our local industry. We’re all well served by learning from their experience.
We’re welcoming a new student chapter this fall at MU. Thanks to Danny McGrail, our current Student Activities chair, for promoting ASHRAE at MU and organizing a new chapter to help bring new talent to our region.
Make your reservation for the chapter meeting today. We have a special guest, Sheila J. Hayter, P.E., LEED AP, speaking during our meeting. As a designated lecturer, and former Vice President and Director at Large of ASHRAE at a society level, we’re privileged to hear her speak on the NREL Research Facility.

University of Missouri Student Chapter Reestablished
The Chapter has sponsored the University of Missouri’s application to reestablish its chapter. The requirements are 10 student petitioners, completion of application paperwork. We are excited for the application to be approved so that the students can begin receiving the benefits of student membership (access to scholarships, grants, and technical material).
