Aaron Enz and Christopher Bowe –  MS&T Solar House Team. 

Since 2002, the U.S. Department of Energy has been hosting a biennial competition that brings together 20 collegiate teams to design, build and operate solar-powered houses. In order to win, houses must be cost-effective, energy-efficient, and attractive. The winner of the competition is the team that best blends affordability, consumer appeal and design excellence with optimal energy production and maximum efficiency. The Missouri S&T Solar House Team is a student design team that seeks to advance the University, community and environment through focused research, public education and sustainable design. The team has over 60 undergraduate members who work tirelessly to design and construct a 100% solar-powered home.

Larry Hall, Trox –  Introduction to Air and Water Systems

The presentation is designed to educate the audience on active chilled beams. The primary focus on the application of chilled beams and system design concepts and best practices.   

Lunch Session Speaker: 

Larry Hall – Regional Manager – Trox USA, Inc.

Mr. Hall is the Regional Manager for Trox USA, Inc.  Trox is a US manufacturer of specialized air distribution HVAC equipment based in Cumming Georgia.  Mr. Hall is a Member of ASHRAE and has been in the HVAC industry for 15 years with a focus on HVAC equipment and DDC controls operation, sales, and customer support. 

 

Technical Session Speakers: 

Christopher Bowe – Project Manager – MO S&T Solar House Team

Mr. Bowe is Son of Jeanne and Walter Bowe of Rolla, MO. He is a senior student in Civil and Architectural Engineering at Missouri S&T. He played baseball in college for 4 years. As a starting pitcher, he lead the Miners to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in nearly 30 years and three straight winning seasons. He is currently the Project Manager of the Solar House Team on campus.

Aaron Enz – Director of Design and Construction – MO S&T Solar House Team

Mr. Enz is Son of Diane and Eric Enz of Jacksonville, IL. He is a Senior student in Mechanical Engineering at Missouri S&T, currently the Director of Design and Construction for the Solar House Team on campus, and has also been involved on Campus as a Resident Assistant and Opening Week Mentor.
