5:30 pm – 6:15pm Registration & Networking
6:15pm-7:30pm Presentation
The Art of Retro-Commissioning:
Retro-Commissioning (ReCx) of an existing building is forensic
engineering in which a snapshot is taken to analyze how the
building is operated, maintained, used and to give a baseline
efficiency. Attendees will be introduced to the common phases in
the ReCx process-Planning, Investigation, Implementation and
Integration-and the lessons learned from each. The presenter will
discuss how design and construction details can shorten the life of a
building. Additionally, the importance of the current building stock
will be explored and attendees will view images of poor
maintenance practices and how to avoid them. Lessons learned on
existing buildings are applicable to operators as well as designers
and constructors.
