AHRI 920 & ASHRAE 90.1 Update – DX-DOAS Performance Standard
The speaker will review the newly adopted AHRI 920 standard for DX-DOAS. This standard, for the performance of dedicated outside air systems, was adopted in 2016 and also has been added to ASHRAE 90.1 – 2013 through Addendum cd. The speaker will review why the standard was created, how the resulting Integrated Seasonal Moisture Removal Efficiency is calculated for applicable equipment, and why the engineering community needs to adopt this standard for proper equipment selection.
Indoor Grow Room Design
The speaker will review the indoor grow room application and the importance of proper HVAC equipment selection in this emerging market application. With the expanded state legalization of medicinal marijuana and in some cases, the recreational legalization of this product, there is an expanded interest in maximizing product output while meeting product quality guidelines established by state inspectors. There is also an expanded interest in indoor farming of produce to meet the buy local demand and reduce the threat of food born contamination. The speaker will discuss the latent & sensible loads that are created with indoor farming applications and how these affect the proper equipment selection.
