EVENING SUMMARY:

Tour night will review the design and performance of a local award winning building owned and operated by St. Louis Public Library. The $70 million restoration and renewal of the St. Louis Public Library’s historic Central Library reopened to the public on December 9, 2012, on time and under budget.  Since reopening the project has won numerous awards including a 1st place technology award at the Chapter & Regional level and was named an honorable mention at this winter’s ASHRAE annual meeting.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
4:15pm – 4:45pm Registration, Networking, Buffet
4:45pm-5:15pm Design Team Dinner Presentation
William Tao & Associates served as the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineer of record for this project and will provide a project overview highlighting technical aspects of this historic restoration. The discussion will also discuss challenges associated with energy efficient design and lessons learned when working in a historic building.

5:15pm – 7:00pm Facility Tour
The facility tour will include several stops.   The walking tour will spend time in the basement where more of the systems are visible.  On the remaining floors this will be a tour of what you cannot see and how the designers were able to utilize a system that did not impact the architecture and historic significance of this building.
