Speaker for Main Session: Eric Krieg
Mechanical Engineer – SmithGroupJJR

Eric Krieg is a mechanical engineer with SmithGroupJJR in Chicago, Illinois.  After obtaining his Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, he began his career as an engineer in the architecture and engineering design industry working for a prominent higher education and K-12 design firm.  As of this year, he has been in the design industry for 9 years and has worked on higher education, commercial/retail and healthcare projects.  The size and scope of projects he’s designed, managed and/or modeled ranges from 500 SF tenant fit-outs to 1,000,000 SF commercial/residential high rise buildings.  His focus has been on designing integrated and sustainable buildings utilizing building information management software, new technologies and energy modeling.  He’s a licensed mechanical engineer and also an ASHRAE certified Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP).  When not designing high-performing mechanical systems for buildings, he enjoys playing basketball and golf and exploring Chicago’s neighborhoods.
