USGBC EVENT- Benchmarking Jam

Energy benchmarking is the process of measuring how much energy your building consumes, and comparing your energy performance to similar buildings. Benchmarking is the first step toward saving energy and money!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager is an online, interactive energy management tool that allows you to measure and track your building’s energy and water consumption, identify investment priorities, and verify improvements over time.

Get hands-on assistance using the free, online ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager tool at the February 25 Benchmarking Jam! All buildings benefit from benchmarking: businesses, schools, congregations, non-profits and local governments are encouraged to attend.

In order for this event to be a success, each building representative should bring:

  • Laptop or Tablet
  • The building street address, year built, and contact information.
  • 12 consecutive months of utility bills for all fuel types used in the building.  You will need the number of units of each energy type used, not just the dollar amount of the utility fee.
  • Additional required information varies by building type. Click here for more details.
